But when Venice, California-based siblings Beatriz and Amir Charnis dreamed up their popular line of luxe-yet-attainable candles, they were just trying to fill a need of their own.

Beatriz had followed in her brother Amir’s footsteps when she left Brazil to seek her American dream in 2015 and attend USC Business School. He immigrated 17 years prior, ultimately creating a successful accessories company in the states. So, when she couldn’t find a quality replacement for the high-end candles she loved—but couldn’t afford—in any of the discount stores, she turned to him for advice. Amir gave her a million-dollar idea (so to speak). If she was frustrated, surely others were too. Why not merge her entrepreneurial spirit with his business background and produce a line of wallet-friendly candles that rivaled those overpriced brands?

The rest, as they say, is history. Amir’s creativity and knowledge of product development translated seamlessly to sourcing fragrance blends, while Beatriz’s vision was integral to TREO’s growth. This dynamic brother-and-sister duo continues to think of ways they can delight the brand’s fans with unexpected combinations, and looks forward to expanding into new categories reflecting their luxury-for-all philosophy.
